Voluntary pension assets rise 14% in 12 months to November

Mexico's pension fund managers, the Afores, saw voluntary pension assets grow 14% in real terms at the end of November compared to the same time in 2007, according to statistics from regulator Consar.

 

 

 

 

Voluntary pension assets amounted to 3.13bn pesos (US$233mn) as of November 30 this year.

 

Assets experienced a 6.2% decline compared to the end of October, when they totaled 3.30bn pesos.

 

The top three players in the segment finished November with the following market shares in terms of voluntary contributions: Afore BBVA Bancomer, 40.8%; Afore Banamex, 18.8%; and Afore XXI, 8.5%.
